About the Role

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Care Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our care management team, you will play a critical role in connecting individuals with the care and resources they need to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and triage inbound calls from members and providers to determine the most appropriate level of care.
  • Make patient assessments and determine the need for additional clinical treatment sessions.
  • Manage inpatient mental health cases throughout the treatment plan.
  • Administer benefits and coordinate transitions between various areas of care.
  • Identify opportunities to add value to treatment plans and consult with facility staff.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling.
  • Active and unrestricted license in the State of California.
  • 2+ years of post-master's experience in a related mental health environment.
  • Proficient Microsoft skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Inpatient experience.
  • Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse.
  • Experience working in an environment that requires coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients.
