Job Summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager at Albany Medical Center provides leadership and coordination for the Pulmonary/Renal Unit, collaborating with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and Assistant Vice President of Specialty Nursing Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentors professional caregivers in patient care delivery and facilitates access, communication, and transitions throughout the acute care stay.
  • Provides leadership for direct patient care provided by specialty nursing unit staff and assures competent, compassionate care is uniformly provided.
  • Supports development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services consistent with the hospital's mission and departmental/unit vision and philosophy.

Requirements

  • Collaborate with other service and department leaders toward attainment of short- and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Lead and direct unit-based staff and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
