We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Madison County Jail in Illinois. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical services to inmates, including routine and emergency care, chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. They will adhere to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Routine and Emergency Medical Care: Conduct daily rounds, treat acute illnesses and injuries, and manage chronic conditions.
  • Document Patient Information: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Comply with Policies and Procedures: Adhere to Wellpath's guidelines and protocols for medical care, including infection control and confidentiality measures.

Requirements:

  • Education: A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution and a master's degree in a related field (e.g., nurse practitioner program).
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in medical/surgical or emergency/trauma settings, preferably in corrections or a similar environment.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois and CPR certification.
