Gecko Hospitality PACO, a well-established restaurant in Philadelphia's vibrant dining scene, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join its dynamic team. As a leading destination for innovative Mexican cuisine, the restaurant has built a positive work environment that values creativity and longevity.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Sous Chef to work closely under the Chef/Owner on menu development and specials. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with Latin or Mexican cuisine and be willing to participate in several weeks of on-the-line training.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Chef/Owner on menu planning and execution
  • Guide the cooking process on the line, ensuring high-quality dishes
  • Develop and implement innovative specials and menu items
  • Contribute to pop-up events, which significantly change the restaurant's appearance and menu four times a year
  • Work hands-on, preparing food, butchering, and moving between stations
  • Assist in supervising a staff of culinary professionals
Requirements
  • Prior experience with Latin or Mexican cuisine preferred
  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training
  • Able to work hands-on without a clipboard
  • Open-minded and able to get along well with different personality types
  • A desire for a long-term position
  • Must pass a background check
Benefits
  • Salary range of $65,000-$70,000 per year
