Education Assistant

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Education Assistant - Paraprofessional Level 2. This role will provide support to certified teachers in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Support administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
- Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Provide administrative support to teachers, including record-keeping and report preparation.
- Orient and assist substitute teachers as needed.
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, working with individual students or small groups.
- Supervise students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
- Communicate special needs or problems of individual students to the teacher.
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Attend faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
- Complete Medicaid/SHARS duties as necessary, maintaining accurate records within established timelines.
- Follow VISD Medicaid/SHARS operating procedures.
- Complete annual Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) training and submit surveys for random moments within 24 hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; valid Texas educational aide certificate preferred.
- Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.
- Experience working with children preferred.
This role requires prolonged sitting, occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Frequent keyboarding and mouse use are also expected. Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) may be required.
