**Job Summary**

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures using non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to diagnose disease.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare patients for examination by explaining the procedure and relieving anxiety
  • Position patients on examination tables for optimal testing procedures
  • Set up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion
  • Perform ultrasound procedures, recognizing structures visualized on the oscilloscope and differentiating artifacts from normal or pathological processes
  • Obtain radiological and diagnostic exam reports for physicians
  • Consult with radiologists regarding patient history and appropriate ultrasonic procedures
  • Maintain records and logs exams performed, documenting slice locations and study labels

**Requirements:**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved program in Echocardiography/Ultrasound and demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, or diagnostic ultrasound
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification
  • Equivalent work experience documented by institutional referral

**Estimated Salary:** $64.18 per hour
