About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Subcontract Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities and Site Services Team, you will be responsible for facilitating and eliciting NREL's construction/maintenance projects in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects as part of our 10-year and beyond campus expansion strategy. You will coordinate with internal customers to generate specifications and statements of work, develop effective purchasing strategies, and perform market research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with internal customers to generate specifications and statements of work.
- Develop effective purchasing strategies with internal customers based on needs.
- Perform market research to identify potential suppliers.
- Review sole source justifications to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Negotiate and administer fixed price commercial item/service purchases.
- Resolve issues related to supplier performance, subcontractor equipment purchases, and delivery schedules.
- Perform post-contract administration duties, including modifications.
- Initiate subprocess reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise between customers and vendors to ensure all needs are met while ensuring cost efficiency.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with vendors to ensure timely completion of Purchase Order paperwork.
- Work collaboratively with Acquisition Service Group members on assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor's degree and 9 or more years of experience or equivalent education/experience in supply chain, management, business, contracts administration, or a similar field.
- Expertise in contract administration with A&E and construction projects.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), other laws, regulations, principles, procedures, and practices related to government contracting.
- Demonstrated ability to execute federal contract administration with minimal guidance.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong cost/price analytical skills and business math skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to build, lead, and maintain a diverse team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high standards of professionalism.
- Expert foundational digital skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and internet browsers.
Benefits:
- A competitive total compensation package, including salary, health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, paid vacation, 401K, long-term disability, and short-term disability.
- An annual salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience relative to the position.
Additional Information:
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance badge.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
Location/Work Arrangement:
Subcontractor Personnel will be required to work on-site on an as-needed basis and can work remotely 8 AM – 5 PM Mountain Time, Monday-Friday unless otherwise directed by NREL.
