Job Description

A local agency is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a challenging role and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare pre-renewal, renewal, and marketing reports to help the agency make informed decisions.
  • Benefits Comparison: Compare health plan benefits and costs to ensure clients receive the best value.
  • Employee Contributions: Calculate employee contributions and develop strategies to meet client budgetary requirements.
  • Client Service Plans: Prepare annual client service plans to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • New Business Development: Collect new client information and assist in the development of new business opportunities.
  • Communication and Correspondence: Author correspondence, communication materials, and compliance notices as required.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate rates and benefits with carriers to secure the best deals for clients.
  • Audit and Compliance: Audit client information, premium, and commission splits in the Agency Management System.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the agency.
Requirements:
  • Health & Life License: A valid Health & Life License is required for this role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this position.
  • Organizational Skills: Assist the Producer in organizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Employee Benefits Knowledge: Knowledge of employee benefits/health plan implementation and administration is necessary.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory issues such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and various state and federal regulations specific to health insurance is required.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate rates and benefits with carriers is essential.
  • Software Skills: Experience in SalesForce is a plus but not required.
