Central Supply Clerk/Driver Position

Job Summary:

The Central Supply Clerk/Driver is responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by safely transporting and transferring incoming admissions via Elderwood vehicles. Additionally, this role involves planning, organizing, inventorying, and ordering all medical equipment and supplies for the facility in a cost-efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain Administrator approval for all orders as instructed.
  • Complete supply/DME orders for all new patients.
  • Order supplies based on designated frequency and record on order sheet once delivered.
  • Initiate Aestiva orders as requested and approved, and record as received in Aestiva.
  • Maintain stock inventory/PAR levels of equipment and supplies on a weekly basis.
  • Complete inventory checklist and stock shelves accordingly for Nursing and Respiratory closets.
  • Order equipment from approved vendors and track serial numbers.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly stockroom.
  • Rotate stock on a regular basis and monitor expiration dates, disposing of expired stock as necessary.
  • Arrange new patient carts as directed.
  • Assure equipment is in safe working order, removing it from use if in disrepair and troubleshooting or sending for repair as needed.
  • Obtain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and manage according to company policy.
  • May be assigned to deliver or pick up supplies from other sites.

Requirements:

  • Twenty-one (21) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a driving-related position.
  • Valid state driver's license with proper class/endorsement.
  • Clean driving record with no violations (zero points) and no accidents in the previous 36 months.
  • Knowledge of local roadways and directions, including driving routes.
  • Knowledge of fleet vehicles and all handicap equipment, including operational and safety procedures.
  • Understanding of the rights and needs of transit-disabled passengers.
  • Proficiency with computers and programs such as Microsoft Office and basic typing skills.
  • DME knowledge and purchasing experience preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of efficiency, with ability to prioritize and possess time management skills.
