At Leidos, we are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team in a fast-paced environment using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. This role involves supporting a nationally significant cryptographic key management program that follows DEVOPS best practices and employs robust development, test, and production environments. The program utilizes Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and test automation tools alongside a full suite of team collaboration tools.
About the Role
The successful candidate will perform software development activities as a member of an agile development team, contributing to the development of new capabilities in this complex system. They will be responsible for implementing robust testing leveraging DEVOPS automation and, where appropriate, use of test automation commercial tools. Opportunities exist for server-side business logic implementation, client web application, and user interface (UI) development. We welcome candidates with experience in Java, Python, embedded C/C++, Java cryptographic framework, XML, web UI, and special purpose device programming.
Key Responsibilities
The Software Engineer will actively participate in program increment planning and related team activities. They will analyze complex system requirements, design software solutions using Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools, and ensure developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault-tolerant, and reusable. The individual will provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process. Additionally, they will promote code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers. The individual will engineer, author, tune, and document automation scripts in a development environment and deploy to the test/production bench.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree and four to eight years of relevant development experience or a master's degree with two to six years of prior relevant development experience. They must have demonstrated experience with Java and familiarity with multiple technologies such as Java/JEE, Python, C/C++, SQL, SOAP, WSDL, WADL, PERL, PowerShell, VBS, Eclipse, Postgres, Oracle, and Jenkins on Windows platforms. Experience with User Interface development, knowledge of databases, and structures, as well as working with XHTML, HTML, XML, XSLT, is also desired. The candidate must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. They must be an independent thinker capable of performing high-quality work both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.
Security Clearance
A valid Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with a polygraph examination is required for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JEE, SQL, application servers, scripting, high-level requirements management, secure systems engineering, trade-off analysis, interface control, testing, and continuous integration is preferred. The ability to work in an Agile environment, apply Agile Developer practices, and experience with FITNesse, Mockito, Cucumber, Unified Functional Tester (UFT), Selenium, and Secure Software development (Layer 7 Policy) is highly valued. Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and SAFe Agilest Certification or experience as a member of an agile team is also desirable.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $81,250 - $146,875, depending on qualifications and experience. Eligible candidates can receive enhanced incentives including up to a $25K cash sign-on bonus or paid time off bonus.
