Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to join our Overhead Solutions new product development team. This role will be located at our Fuquay-Varina location and will focus on designing TE Energy connector products for LV applications using metallic and polymeric materials.

Responsibilities
  • Designing TE Energy connector products for LV applications using metallic and polymeric materials
  • 3D CAD design using Creo/Pro-E & 2D CAD design
  • Product Data management of eBOMs
  • Executing engineering efforts on new product platforms from concept to industrialization across a range of renewables projects
  • Executing on cost optimization/reduction (VA/VE) opportunities for the business
  • Preparing design verification test plans, Design & Process FMEAs
  • Recording results of design reviews, design decision meetings, and writing technical summaries
  • Assisting with product compliance and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.
Requirements
  • BSME, BSEE, or similar engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years of engineering related experience for Energy market applications, with specific experience in the renewables market
  • Demonstrated track record of designing power connectors for solar, BESS, and renewables applications
  • Knowledge of BESS products and architecture, PV connectors, fuse harnesses, and solar farm trunk architecture
  • Knowledge in connector product designs utilizing aluminum and copper materials
  • Expertise in cable harness design is beneficial
  • Proficient in competitive tear downs
  • Proficient at 3D CAD design tools such as Creo, 3D scanning & 3D printing equipment
  • Knowledge of grounding connector systems would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of plastic material properties
  • LDFSS or DMAIC 6-sigma black or green belt an advantage
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ANSI, UL, IEEE, IEC connector, BESS, PV specifications
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Willingness to travel

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $107,680 - $161,520(subject to change dependent on physical location)
