Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Surgery Recovery team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
  • Coordinate nursing care activities with other healthcare disciplines
  • Administer medications and provide direct patient care
  • Practice infection control and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Possession of a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State
  • One year of post-licensure acute care nursing experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of experience
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • At least one year of previous hospital acute care experience
  • ACLS certification, EKG certification, and conscious sedation experience
Working Conditions

This role may involve exposure to infectious diseases, blood, body fluids, and other unpleasant elements. You may be required to handle unpredictable, emergency, and crisis situations. Irregular hours and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries may also be a part of this role.
