Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will play a critical role in coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. As a vital member of the patient care team, this individual will perform diagnostic tests, administer therapies, and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider as appropriate
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner issued by the Texas Medical Board
  • Licensed RRT issued by the NBRC
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an acute care setting with critical care experience
