Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Real Estate Tax Manager to lead our real estate tax compliance and consulting engagements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage income tax compliance engagements and review income tax returns for real estate-focused clients, including multi-family housing and commercial real estate.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead, train, and mentor staff while managing internal job scheduling and assessing team competencies.
  • Research and apply technical tax requirements and provide superior client service.
  • Develop and manage client relationships and participate in proposals for prospective clients.
  • Monitor the quality of deliverables and the performance of the real estate team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Approximately 6+ years of relevant work experience in tax, with prior experience in a public accounting firm required.
  • CPA or EA certification required.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial but not required:
    • Affordable Housing
    • Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC)
    • Opportunity Zones (OZ)
    • Historic Tax Credits (HTC)
    • Deferred Tax Exchanges Under Section 1031
    • Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
Compensation and Benefits
  • The estimated annual salary for this position is around $100,000 - $120,000, depending on experience.
