Telemetry Technician

Job Summary:

Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Monitor Technician to work varied hours. This role is responsible for documenting and interpreting telemetry rhythm strips, performing independent checks, and assigning telemetry monitoring as ordered by physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document and interpret telemetry rhythm strips at intervals and with patient changes.
• Perform independent checks of strips, including time, PR interval measurement, QRS measurement, QT measurement, ectopy, and baseline rhythm.
• Assign telemetry monitoring as ordered by physicians.
• Effectively communicate telemetry-related patient information to members of the healthcare team.
• Continuously check telemetry monitoring systems to ensure proper working order.
• Demonstrate knowledge of escalating medical emergencies and Code Blue processes.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course required.
• Able to pass telemetry pre-test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Current Monitor Tech experience and/or recent clinical experience preferred.
