Pediatric Genetics Specialist

This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position in Pediatric Genetics is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team at the University of Rochester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing comprehensive care to individuals and families with metabolic genetic disorders.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of adult and pediatric patients' medical histories and genetic risk factors.
- Perform physical examinations and order appropriate tests.
- Manage patients with inborn errors of metabolism, including those who may need enzyme replacement therapy.
- Monitor patients' ongoing metabolic health and provide necessary interventions and referrals.
- Routine communication with external providers and state agencies.
- Preclinical case reviews, prescription management, patient and parent phone calls, and interacting with various state and home care agencies.
- Participating in weekly rounds and meetings for the metabolic service and Division meetings for Clinical Genetics.
As an APP in Pediatric Genetics, you will have the opportunity to engage in bedside and didactic education of medical students, residents, observers, and MS Genetic Counseling students. Research opportunities are also available and encouraged for interested applicants.
Requirements and Qualifications- Current certification through NYS as an FNP/PA.
- Master's degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing, and current/pending national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing, and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA.

Pay Range and LocationThe pay range for this position is $65.97 hourly. The position is located in Pediatric Services at the University of Rochester.
