As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will travel to various patient locations performing mobile diagnostic imaging procedures, supporting the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This role includes operating portable equipment, ensuring image quality, maintaining patient care standards, and training other technicians.

About Your Day-to-Day Experience:
  • You will travel by automobile as directed to perform portable x-rays and EKG exams in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, correctional institutions, residential homes, and other patient locations.
  • You will follow all company policies, procedures, and protocols while performing diagnostic imaging exams.
  • You will collect and verify all required order documentation and patient information prior to procedures.
  • You will prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging exams.
  • You will operate portable radiologic equipment at patients' bedsides or other designated exam settings.
  • You will determine exposure factors based on height, weight, body part, and degree of penetration required.
  • You will demonstrate safe work practices appropriate to your position, including safe driving, radiation safety, ALARA principles, infection control, use of personal protective equipment, safe operation of x-ray generators, and associated equipment.
  • You will prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • You will process images and review them for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
  • You will transmit images and all required associated documentation in a timely manner according to company protocols.
  • You will complete all forms and maintain records, visit logs, and reports of work performed according to standard protocols.
  • You will perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, assist with troubleshooting, and problem-solving of equipment and systems as directed by Company management or Service Department personnel.
  • You will take good care of vehicles, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • You will operate and behave in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations related to portable imaging procedures and standards.
  • You will perform training and orientation of other employees upon request by management.
Your Requirements:
  • You must meet all state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R) or a state x-ray license, if applicable.
  • You must have a valid state-issued driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • You must be able to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • You must be able to walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment.
  • You must be able to work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends.
