Qualifications

  • A minimum Associate's Degree (ADN) or above in nursing is required.
  • An active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in a PACU, ICU, or similar high-acuity setting is preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team, are expected.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate post-operative care to a variety of surgical patients, monitoring vital signs, and managing symptoms of anesthesia.
  • Administer prescribed medications and implement treatment plans as directed by medical staff.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transition from the operating room to the PACU to discharge home.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and potential complications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is $59,640 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
