We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Job Responsibilities

As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnostics Imaging:
    • Perform x-ray examinations on patients to produce high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
    • Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while ensuring their comfort and safety.
    • Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
  • Patient Care:
    • Prepare patients for x-ray procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.
    • Ensure patients are positioned correctly and comfortably on the examination table.
    • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their well-being and safety.
  • Image Quality and Processing:
    • Adjust x-ray equipment settings to capture clear and accurate images.
    • Evaluate radiographs for quality and ensure they meet diagnostic requirements.
    • Use computerized systems to process and store images.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and other governing bodies.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
    • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements

To be successful as a Radiologic Imaging Specialist, you must have:

  • Education:
    • An Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
    • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • State licensure as required by law.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as an X-Ray Technician is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
    • Experience with digital imaging systems and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and producing high-quality images.
    • Strong understanding of anatomy, radiographic positioning, and imaging techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
