**Job Summary:** As a Financial Counselor, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients complete the financial clearance process before receiving services. Your responsibilities will include estimating costs, reviewing estimates with patients, collecting payments, and providing payment options. You will also collaborate with the financial clearance team, department, and physician practices to ensure seamless communication and effective financial clearance processes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Identify patient responsibility and work with patients to obtain payment or payment plan assistance.
  • Provide necessary information, forms, and guidance to patients to complete the free care application process.
  • Coordinate time to meet with patients/families on hospital campuses.
  • Ensure financial clearance processes are complete within 24-48 hours of task receipt.
  • Accurately document and report completion of processes following standard work in Financial Clearance.
  • Engage management when issues or concerns result in failure to meet deadlines or financial payment expectations.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by eliminating financial concerns while meeting financial goals.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • High school graduate with a minimum of three years' experience in financial assistance and insurance plans.
  • Must complete the Certified Navigation Application within two years of hire.
  • Strong computer skills, including navigating various websites and applications.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and basic collections laws.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

**Salary:** The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on the location and requirements of the job. This figure is subject to change and may not reflect the actual salary offered.
