Advanced Acute Care Medical Nurse Specialist

Geisinger Health is proud to offer a $24,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates and a competitive salary with increased rates for experienced individuals. The minimum hiring rate is $40.00 per hour, and employees can earn up to $7 in shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
The Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital (GSACH) has 3 advanced acute care locations within the hospital that function as one large unit. As an Inpatient RN, you will have the opportunity to care for a variety of patients, including those with acute exacerbations of chronic illness, new onset illnesses, and pre- and post-op patients.
About the JobThis role is ideal for nurses who want to work in a community hospital environment where they can be part of a team that feels like family. The typical work setting is in a clinical environment, where you will assess, plan, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet the needs of your patients.
Key Responsibilities- You will complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards, addressing the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of your patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.
- You will formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning, throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- You will provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, according to policy and procedure.
