As a Staff Geotechnical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations on projects involving site characterization, landfill design and construction, earth retaining structures, deep and soft/weak foundations, dams and water containment structures, forensic investigations and litigation support, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, numerical analysis of stability and deformation, and geohazard / earthquake characterization / mitigation.
You will work in our San Francisco Bay Area Branch office, collaborating with our team of engineers, scientists, and technical experts to deliver exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting geotechnical field investigations
* Monitoring heavy civil construction projects
* Performing and reviewing engineering calculations
* Earthquake engineering
* Landfill design and permitting
* Dam and levee evaluations
* Developing construction documents
* Writing and reviewing engineering reports
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering (required)
* Advanced degree in the same field (preferred)
* Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year from hire (preferred)
* Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting (preferred)
* Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS (preferred)
* Regular field work and overnight travel (50%)
* Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
* Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
