We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Nuvance Health in Danbury. As a valued member of our healthcare community, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients on our Psych Unit.
About the RoleThis part-time position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced LPNs to utilize their skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with a dedicated team of professionals to deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring a safe and therapeutic experience for all individuals entrusted to our care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care within your scope of practice and the established model of nursing.
- Document vital signs, wound care, medication administration, patient observations, and patient admission to the unit within the EMR under RN supervision.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare team members to facilitate a positive patient experience.
- Verify, prepare, and administer medication using safe practices to assigned patients.
- Perform standard diagnostic procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, bladder scans, and glucoscans as necessary, and collect urinary specimens.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients.
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A current LPN license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with EMR documentation systems.
This position requires:
- Significant manual dexterity and finger coordination.
- Very heavy effort, potentially exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
- Somewhat hazardous working conditions, with potential exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
