Job Summary

Harvard University's Open Scholarship and Research Data Services (OSRDS) team is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to serve as the Chief Open Scholarship and Research Data Services Ambassador. This role involves promoting and advancing department services and programs through outreach and engagement within and beyond Harvard Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating and promoting OSRDS services, developing, coordinating, and supporting OSRDS projects and programs, as well as building collaborations and partnerships with various stakeholders on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with campus stakeholders in OSRDS services to promote open scholarship and research data services.
  • Coordinate and support OSRDS initiatives and projects, including developing outreach strategies and cultivating partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Organize events and workshops to promote OSRDS services, open access, open data, open education, and open infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for growth and improved service delivery, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for open scholarship and research data services.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent required; Master's degree in library science, information science, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in open access, open data, and scholarly communication, with proven experience in outreach, community engagement, and project management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current trends and issues in open scholarship and science, open access, open data, and scholarly communication.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
