About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our dynamic team at JT Engineering, Inc. in Madison, WI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading projects, demonstrating your expertise, and shaping the trajectory of our services.

This role offers the opportunity to diversify your skill set across various civil engineering disciplines, and to be part of a team that is passionate about improving infrastructure and making a positive impact in our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Set goals, monitor, and implement short and long-term vision for the team as part of the annual business plan.
  • Staff Development: Develop staff through supervising, coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Project Management: Manage scope, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, client communications, staffing, and budget for the entire project lifecycle, from project pursuit through project delivery.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively internally and externally.
  • Support and Collaboration: Support staff and colleagues on transportation-related projects.
  • Staffing and Recruitment: Assist in determining staffing needs, recruiting, and maintaining a skilled workforce.
  • Quality Assurance: Administer the JT Quality Assurance process for all projects.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; or equivalent years of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience leading projects and managing staff.
  • Licensure: A Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain PE (preferred).
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Travel: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for worksites, client meetings, and conferences.
  • Work Authorization: To be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, restrictions, or need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
  • Occasional Travel: To occasionally travel out-of-town and overnight for professional development and/or project-related work.
