Job Summary:

Fairfax Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Financial Officer in Training to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our inpatient psychiatric facilities and developing the skills and expertise necessary to become a successful financial leader within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control accounts receivables, ensuring cash collection goals are met and net revenue is properly stated.
  • Improve the profitability of the hospital by continually monitoring costs in all areas, particularly staffing as it relates to patient volume.
  • Develop and monitor policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced hospital operating costs, and increased revenues.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, financial packages, reports, and analysis to aid in decision-making.
  • Provide reconciliations, account analysis, and other information for the Reimbursement Department, Tax Department, Auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare annual budgets in conjunction with UHS standards, reviewing prior financial results and discussing anticipated changes to highlight future needs and trends of the facility.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial role in an inpatient healthcare setting, with a strong preference for experience in acute care hospitals and behavioral health.
  • Minimum education requirement of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in multiple areas of healthcare finance and accounting, including AP/AR, payroll, accounting, business office, financial counseling, budgeting, and more.
