Mover - Custodian

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mover - Custodian to join our facilities team at St. John Fisher University. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our campus facilities, including setup and teardown of events, recycling program management, and storage room maintenance.

• Set up and tear down of university events and conferences, including setup of classrooms and residence rooms
• Manage the recycling program, including distribution of containers, pickup schedules, and program implementation
• Maintain accurate records of equipment, furniture, and supplies in storage rooms
• Assist with cross-covering regular housekeeping schedules as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• High school education or equivalent required; one to five years of directly related experience desired
• Valid New York State driver's license required
• Ability to move heavy items safely and without damage
• Good eyesight and ability to understand diagrams and instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

This position requires working in various locations on campus, including exposure to normal working hazards associated with housekeeping and moving operations. The successful candidate must be safety-conscious and able to observe safety issues when mixing chemicals or lifting heavy items.

The successful candidate must be familiar with the operation and maintenance of all custodial service equipment and moving apparatus.
