Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at CentraState Healthcare System. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide considerate and respectful care to patients, focusing on their individual needs to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Affirm patients' rights to make decisions regarding their medical care, including the decision to discontinue treatment, to the extent permitted by law.
  • Successfully complete life-span education as appropriate.
  • Obtain a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent, and continuous, and communicate effectively utilizing Hand-off policy and document.
  • Administer medication as needed following CSHS policies and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Take immediate and appropriate actions in the event of a medication variance occurrence.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and/or emergency situations and take immediate and appropriate actions.
  • Participate in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and quality improvement strategies.
  • Delegate components of care to non-professional caregivers as appropriate, follow up on any delegated components of care and assignments given.
  • Make decisions that demonstrate knowledge of nursing practice, utilize sound nursing judgment in clinical and patient care management situations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Two years of telemetry experience preferred.
  • Related experience preferred.
  • RN license/NJ required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Successful Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course to be achieved with First Year.
  • CSMC IV Certification to be achieved within First Year.
  • Stroke Education requirements to be achieved within First Year then maintained thereafter.
  • Specialty professional nursing certification preferred.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification required. New hires must receive certification within 3 months of hire. Renewal certifications will be completed every 2 years.
