Speech Language Pathologist Specialist

At Houston Methodist, the role of Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Specialist is a critical position in our healthcare team. As an experienced SLP, this position provides education to patients, patient's family members, and/or caregivers, and collaborates with other interprofessional team members for problem resolution and achievement of identified patient specific goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and developing therapy plans for patients with various diagnoses and acuities
- Providing direct patient care and ensuring exceptional customer service
- Collaborating with nursing and support staff to provide comprehensive patient care
- Orienting new team members and assisting with precepting students in clinical rotations
The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care.
In terms of qualifications, we are seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist with at least three years of experience in a similar setting. The successful candidate will also be certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and have a strong understanding of speech-language pathology principles and practices.
We offer a competitive salary package of $85,000-$110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
