Support and Empowerment Specialist

Region V Services is seeking a dedicated Support and Empowerment Specialist to provide comprehensive training and support services for individuals with disabilities in their homes and community locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored support and training programs that enhance the individual's competencies, help them achieve personal goals, and foster meaningful relationships within the community.
This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as the individual may work in various locations, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. The Support and Empowerment Specialist will also participate in training sessions to expand their knowledge and skills, ensuring high-quality services are provided.
Schedule and CompensationWe offer full-time positions with 30 and 40-hour workweek schedules, allowing for flexible hours and the opportunity to set your own schedule. Competitive compensation includes an hourly wage of $15.31-$16.41 per hour.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement systematic training programs tailored to each individual's needs and desired outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Work closely with individuals, their families, and other team members to identify desired outcomes and develop customized support plans.
- Maintain accurate records and data collection, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate training programs regularly, making adjustments as necessary to enhance individual growth and progress.
- Serve as a positive role model and trainer for individuals, promoting socially enhancing behaviors and life skills.
- Collaborate with consultants, supervisors, and other agency staff to ensure seamless support and service delivery.
- Instruct individuals on safety precautions and regulations, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
- Assist individuals with nutritional and dietetic needs, ensuring they receive proper care and support.
- Provide transportation and support as needed to enhance community access skills.
- Attend training conferences and developmental sessions to maintain and improve job performance.
- Assist individuals in managing their personal funds, adhering to Region V Services procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of experience in human services preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license or reliable means of transportation.
- Able to pass a background check and adhere to Region V Services policies.
