Compensation for Critical Care Nurses

The estimated annual salary for this role is $83,643, based on industry standards and location. This figure may vary depending on factors like experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities as a Critical Care Nurse

The Freestanding Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing therapeutic communication in daily practice to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
  • Identifying nursing problems as they relate to individual patient needs
  • Planning individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach
  • Participating in performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes
  • Providing care and coordinating participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement
Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

  • Current RN licensure by TN Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of employment
  • CPI certification within six months of employment
  • A minimum of one year of RN experience
  • Prior experience in the ER is highly preferred
