Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coder to join our team. As a Medical Coder at Riverhills Neuroscience, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our billing processes. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Coding physician visits/encounters based on supportive chart documentation.
  • Reviewing hospital, office, and procedure operative/progress notes and charges for compliance and accuracy.
  • Performing charge entry/data entry into a computerized billing management system.
  • Researching and obtaining necessary documentation/information from provider/office to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding and charge entry.
  • Assisting with research for denied claims & appeals; medical coverage policy/medical necessity.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Certified Coding (CPC) experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years EHR/EMR and Practice Management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current & active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
  • Proficient understanding and knowledge of the CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
  • Detailed knowledge of medical & anatomical terminology.
  • Detailed knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality & privacy regulations.
