Pediatric Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist

At Rady Children's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our CVPICU team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our young patients with complex heart conditions.

About the RoleThis 13-week assignment will require you to work night shifts (12x4 - 07PM) on a 48-hour schedule. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct patient care to post-op cardiac surgical patients, cardiology patients, and those with complex congenital and acquired heart diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with heart transplants, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and ECMO
- Care for patients with neonatal up to age 23, including those with complex cardiac conditions
- Float between units, except OR, PACU, and ED, as required
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in CVPICU/CTICU or PEDS Cardiac nursing
- A California RN License, or be in process of obtaining one
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
- Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation
- A flu vaccination and willingness to float between units
