Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer for Advanced Navigation Systems to join our Vehicle Engineering team in Melbourne, Florida. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for leading the development and integration of autopilot and autothrottle capabilities into Vehicle Management Systems.

This position requires a Bachelor of Science (BS) in a STEM discipline and 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 10 years of relevant experience. You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of fixed-wing aircraft dynamics, fly-by-wire control systems, system engineering requirement definition, verification, and validation, and experience analyzing non-linear simulations of aircraft closed-loop responses. Additionally, you should have experience creating certification test procedures and test cases, working knowledge of Flight Management Systems, including RNAV, and proficiency in using MATLAB and Simulink.

In this role, you will work closely with our cross-functional team to design, develop, and integrate software solutions that meet the requirements of our advanced navigation systems. You will be responsible for writing high-quality code, debugging issues, and collaborating with other engineers to ensure that our systems are reliable, efficient, and meet the needs of our customers.

We offer a competitive salary range of $142,500 - $213,700, which is estimated based on national averages for similar positions in the United States. In addition to your base pay, you may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
