Job Summary

IMG Citrus Inc is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial/industrial equipment and systems. The environment is highly automated and dependent on control systems. Experience with refrigeration systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wire electrical control panels according to specifications.
  • Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning packaging equipment.
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Install safety and distribution components (e.g. pneumatic solenoid valves, switches, photo eyes, control panels etc.).
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components (24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 Phase).
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
  • Forming electrical circuits, by connecting electrical wires to components and fixtures and testing completed circuits.
  • Installing switches, circuit breaker panels, relays, and other electrical control and distribution equipment.
  • Installing hangers and brackets to support electrical products.
  • Performing maintenance procedures to keep wiring, lighting, and control systems in good working order.
  • Inspecting circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components for faults.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate adeptness in troubleshooting electrical systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet the highest quality standards.
  • Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience as an electrical technician/wireman/electrician or related field.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and read electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with PLC, VFD, HMI, Relay, Safety Relays, and others.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams is essential.
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work long hours if necessary.
  • Possess a high degree of safety awareness when performing all tasks.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Well organized, analytical, and detail oriented with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Electrical certification or relevant vocational training is needed.
  • Maintain working area clean and organized.
  • Display and maintain enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
Work Environment
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Start and end time may vary depending on organizational need. Occasional weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Work will be performed in a packinghouse facility with various temperatures from both hot to cold weather, standing for long periods of time, and must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively. Employees are frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. Workers should be able to work on their feet for long periods of time. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations.
