Pediatric OR Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric OR RN PRN to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Provide professional surgical nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases, ensuring the best possible care for our patients.
- Work closely with surgical teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families, providing support and education.
- Organize and maintain supplies needed for patients, ensuring a sterile and efficient operating room environment.
- Assess patients before, during, and after surgery, maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient safety.
- Perform count procedures to protect patients from unintended retained foreign objects and ensure accurate site, side, and level identification.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Involve patients or designated support persons in decisions affecting their post-perioperative plan of care and rehabilitation process.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice, or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in Perioperative Nursing is required.
