Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician II to join our team at Wilson County School System. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure a comfortable and healthy learning environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct, modify, or repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and environmental control systems.
  • Serve as the technical expert in one or more areas of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning fields.
  • Review heating and cooling requirements and make recommendations to achieve optimum system effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and prescribe repair procedures.
  • Follow broad written or oral instructions and follow blueprints and diagrams.
  • Analyze building heating and air conditioning requirements and recommend systems or modifications.
Requirements
  • Considerable experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and related environmental control systems.
  • Working knowledge of electricity and pneumatic control systems.
  • Ability to follow broad written or oral instructions and follow blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to analyze building heating and air conditioning requirements and recommend systems or modifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Considerable knowledge of heating, ventilation, and refrigeration theory.
  • Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the design and operation of centrifugal and reciprocal compressors.
Special Requirements

The employee or agency must hold a heating and/or air conditioning license based on State requirements, as directed by the Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Fire Sprinkler Contractors.
