Job Description

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in High Ridge, MO. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to creating an inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and professionals to create and maintain an effective learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress and provide regular updates to parents and school administrators.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with various teaching methods and educational technology.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding special education.
  • Ability to manage a diverse classroom and handle challenging behaviors effectively.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
