USAging is the national association representing and supporting the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocating for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs.

Our members help older adults and people with disabilities throughout the United States live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities.

We develop, coordinate and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs and more.

Our mission is to support the success of our members in serving the nation's growing population of older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers through advancing public policy, sparking innovation, strengthening our members' capacity, raising their visibility and driving excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.

About the Job

The Accounting Manager is a key role that supports the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with financial related functions, including monthly reporting, accounting reconciliations, preparing financial statements, accounting analysis, budgeting and assisting with the financial audits.

This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface with all levels of USAging staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive accounting knowledge and sound judgement to plan and successfully accomplish departmental and individual goals.

In addition, this role assists USAging's Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative team with establishing and maintaining the necessary financial oversight related to grants and subgrantees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of USAging's financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Prepare accurate and timely periodic financial statements, including general ledger journal entries/reconciliations, cash management and bank reconciliations, fixed assets and depreciation accounting, and monthly Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of monthly summary analysis on departmental results as part of the monthly reporting packages.
  • Assist with annual budget development, along with budget development and financial components of grant applications, and manage the financial tracking of all awarded grants.
  • Direct USAging's financial functions, including establishing and maintaining its account principles, practices and internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and oversight of year-end audits related to financial and Uniform Guidance.
  • Support the CFO with special projects and workflow process improvement, including policies and procedures within the Finance Team and USAging.
  • Advising on other areas deemed necessary by the CFO.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year.
