Medical Imaging Specialist

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Travel CT Technologist to join their team in Sacramento, California.
This 13-week travel assignment offers a competitive salary and a tax-free stipend. The ideal candidate will possess excellent patient care skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Preparation and Safety
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Position patients properly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
- Operation of CT Equipment
- Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, ensuring proper settings for each scan, including radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols.
- Administer contrast agents or dye injections (under physician or radiologist guidance) to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
- Monitor the equipment during imaging to ensure high-quality images are captured and that no errors occur during the process.
- Image Quality and Review
- Review CT images for quality, ensuring all required areas are captured and the images meet diagnostic standards.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure images are of sufficient quality to support diagnosis.
- Repeat or adjust scans as necessary to improve image quality or ensure comprehensive imaging coverage.
- Patient Education and Support
- Provide education and guidance to patients regarding aftercare following contrast injections, potential side effects, and follow-up procedures.
- Address patient concerns about the procedure, including fears of radiation exposure or claustrophobia, offering support as needed.
- Ensure patient privacy and dignity are maintained throughout the imaging process.
- A degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Current certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography (RT(R)).
- 1-2 years of experience in CT scanning, preferably in a travel or per-diem setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
