Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Clinical Social Worker Supervisor, the successful candidate will provide outpatient behavioral health and crisis intervention services to Sault Tribe members, their dependents, and other eligible Native Americans. The position is responsible for providing prevention services to groups and individuals, professional consultation, and other community services related to behavioral health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsels individuals, families, groups, and couples to address mental health and addiction issues.
  • Documents client needs and progress notes to ensure accurate and effective treatment planning.
  • Develops diagnostic impressions and treatment plans in conjunction with clients to address their unique needs.
  • Consults with referral sources to provide clinical recommendations and client progress updates.
  • Conducts case management services as an advocate for clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Determines the appropriate level of client care based on American Science of Addiction Medicine II criteria.
Requirements:
  • Master of Social Work from an accredited university preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year therapy experience required, 2 years preferred, with high-risk populations including mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Must be licensed within one of these respective professions in the State of Michigan or be able to obtain licensing within 90 days of hire: Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling.
  • Preferred certifications include CAADC, Certified Addictions Professional, Registered Play Therapist, Certified Prevention Specialist, and Child and Adolescent Specialists.
