Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to join our growing team focused on exploring the full potential of our 4D FMCW LiDARs in autonomous driving applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of Aeva's 4D perception stack, deployed in production
  • Design and implement novel algorithms, ensuring rapid prototyping and iteration
  • Optimize code for performance and scalability, adhering to coding standards and best practices
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion with thorough documentation and testing

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in real-time perception systems, with a proven track record of creating and deploying effective solutions
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • Familiarity with object detection, clustering, filtering, data association, and tracking algorithms
  • Experience working with 3D data representations (point clouds, meshes, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of linear algebra and 3D geometry
  • Proficiency in C++ development, Linux environment, and scripting languages such as Python and Bash

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of RADAR and LiDAR principles
  • Experience with real-time sensor fusion techniques, including LiDAR and camera integration
  • Proficiency in robotics or autonomous vehicle software frameworks, such as ROS/ROS2
  • Understanding of run-time optimization techniques, including parallelization, vectorization, and cache-friendly development

Total Compensation Package

The total compensation package includes a salary range of $154,900 - $209,600 per year, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax commuter and health care/dependent care accounts, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and 11 paid holidays annually.
