Job Summary:

As a Radiology Tech II, you will perform a variety of standard radiographic procedures in a safe and efficient manner, reviewing and transmitting films and reports to appropriate physicians. You will also handle reception and clerical duties within the Radiology Department, preparing required departmental reports.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing their needs and providing patient education.
  • Perform radiographic and/or fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Demonstrate skills for IV placement and injection of contrast materials.
  • Operate computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images.
  • Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Enter and properly complete all patient information, including exam charges and supplies, into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and/or other KP application.
  • Prepare films for interpretation by the radiologist in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to unique needs of the department and respond appropriately.
  • Communicate abnormal situations to proper sources in a way that facilitates resolution and/or tracking.
  • Actively engage other health care providers (radiologist, ordering practitioners) to ensure quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care.
  • Follow department procedures/processes/policies.
  • Practice safety measures in radiography by adhering to all governing regulations.
  • Follow universal precautions, infection control guidelines, and sterile technique.
  • Comply with all governing regulations.
  • Stock and clean exam rooms/work areas.
  • Take rotational call for after-hours facilities and be responsible for coverage if unable to take call.
  • May be responsible for clinical instruction of student technologist.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Apply the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: One (1) year as a Radiological Technologist.
  • Education: N/A.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Basic Life Support, Radiologic Technologist Certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • General knowledge of EH&S, OSHA, DHR, Radiation Safety, and Protection.
  • General knowledge of exam protocols.
  • Basic PC (keyboarding & navigation) skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
