Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Marine Transportation Officer on one of our Polar Tankers vessels. As a key member of the crew, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation of oil from Valdez, Alaska, to refineries primarily on the West Coast of the United States.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on experience.
Responsibilities- Navigate the vessel safely and efficiently through various marine environments.
- Maintain safety equipment and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist in cargo operations, including loading and unloading of oil cargo.
- Participate in drills and emergencies to ensure the safety of the crew and vessel.
- Enforce rules, procedures, regulations, and pollution prevention measures.
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a USCG 3rd Mates Unlimited Tonnage endorsement.
- Have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marine Transportation or a related field.
- Have at least 1+ years of direct experience sailing as a cadet on a tanker/ship.
- Be willing and able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds, and standing for long periods of time.
- Be able to work well in a team environment and possess strong communication skills.

This position requires a TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to gain access to secure areas of Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) regulated facilities and vessels.
