Job Description:

The Dietary Aide/Kitchen Staff member plays a vital role in preparing nutritious meals for our patients and patrons. Responsibilities include maintaining food temperatures, planning cooking schedules, and ensuring all containers are stocked with necessary supplies.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain accurate records of dietary changes and updates in patient Kardex systems.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to prepare meals for Meals-On-Wheels programs.
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering department telephones and serving employees and guests in the cafeteria line.
  • Educate patients and families about meal options and modifications as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Food Service Sanitation Certification from IDPH preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for successful collaboration with healthcare teams.
