Job Summary:
HexaQuEST Health, Inc. is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience in phlebotomy and be certified in phlebotomy. The Phlebotomy Specialist will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients, processing samples, and performing other laboratory tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect blood specimens from patients using aseptic technique and following established procedures.
• Process samples in the laboratory, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and delivering to the appropriate section.
• Perform waived testing, including blood glucose monitoring, and rapid flu and strep tests as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and testing.
• Communicate critical results to authorized personnel and chart reports as needed.
Requirements:
• Three or more years of experience in phlebotomy.
• Current phlebotomy certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:
• The Phlebotomy Specialist will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with frequent exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.
• The position requires the ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
• The Phlebotomy Specialist may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
