As a dynamic and fast-paced organization, Hilltop Securities Inc. is seeking an HFA Program Specialist to join our team in Sherman Oaks. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

The HFA Program Specialist will be responsible for performing pre- and post-closing compliance reviews for client TBA and MRB/MCC programs. This involves ensuring timely review of loan applications and supporting documentation, adhering to program timelines and requirements. The successful candidate will work under minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance Review: Conduct thorough reviews of loan applications and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Documentation Management: Manage and maintain accurate records of loan documents, including paystubs, tax returns, and other supporting materials.
  • Lender Support: Provide direct assistance to lenders regarding program documents, requirements, and processes.
  • Pipeline Monitoring: Monitor program pipelines by routine follow-up emails and phone calls to lenders, communicating any missing or incomplete documents to meet program and timeline requirements.
  • Program Administration: Perform program commitment expiration extensions, loan changes, and cancellation requests as directed by the lender.
  • Process Improvement: Identify process improvements and document them as applicable.
  • Cross-Training: Cross-train in other roles to provide back-up support to other team members, specifically accounting functions and phone coverage.
Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess a moderate working knowledge of agency and servicer guidelines, as well as the Emphasys Loan Tracking system flow and functionalities.
  • Mortgage Industry Experience: Have experience with processing mortgage loans, preferably with technical knowledge and experience with state and local housing agency programs.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Be detail-oriented, organized, and able to keep up with the often-demanding pace of the workload.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate a high level of integrity, dependability, and flexibility, with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented approach.
