Responsibilities

Trystan Smith & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance, is seeking a Paralegal to join our growing Salt Lake City office. Qualified candidates will have civil litigation and insurance defense experience, the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and prioritize workloads in a time-sensitive environment. Responsibilities include supporting two attorneys with the discovery process, medical summaries, and billing summaries, as well as deposition and trial preparation. This is a hybrid role, requiring hours in the office and virtually. Work arrangements may change over time based on business needs.

We provide a congenial, team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff. Our active, busy civil trial practice is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate
• 1-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably Insurance Defense or Personal Injury experience
• Familiarity with Court Rules and Procedures
• Background in preparing disclosures, discovery responses, preparing medical record summaries, and trial preparation
• Strong software/technical skills specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience working in an electronic/digital environment
