Psychiatrist Job Summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, MA. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients, as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. You will also provide clinical direction, general supervision, and training to the site staff, and have other managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by medical and clinical services staff.
  • Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course.
  • Provide psychiatric services for inpatients, assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review of all inmates assigned.
  • Provide medication management to all inmates admitted.
  • Provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate.
  • Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of treatment plans.
  • Approve all admissions and discharges into the Behavioral Health Unit.
  • Provide in-service education to the site staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
  • Must be licensed to practice in the state of Virginia and certified by the Office of Behavioral Health to provide psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient unit.
  • Must have current DEA number.
