Job Description

This role involves leading a team of employees in a positive, motivating manner with continuous assistance in employee training and development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and developing high-performing staff consisting of Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
  • Creating and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Scheduling staff and ensuring all shifts are covered.
  • Ensuring staff provides exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Leading by example and maintaining consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching, ensuring adherence to PF's values and goals.
  • Administration and processing of all weekly/bi-weekly employee payroll.
  • Resolving employee issues or concerns.
  • Managing progressive discipline and termination as needed.
  • Leading by example with involvement in all front desk-related activities.
  • Greeting members and guests, providing exceptional customer service to ensure everyone feels welcome.
  • Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with various questions.
  • Checking members into the system, touring, and signing up new members, logging amenities, and communicating updates or events to members and guests.
  • Facilitating all member requests and helping to resolve any member issues and questions.
  • Overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, including taking responsibility for the largest section of cleaning daily.
  • Ensuring the front desk area and lobby are clean and orderly.
  • Participating in regular facility cleaning and club upkeep, such as mopping up spills, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
  • Ensuring the safety of employees, members, and club property by determining when equipment or facilities require repair and communicating to the Facilities Maintenance team in a timely manner.
  • Managing marketing efforts by ensuring staff is aware and trained on all marketing promotions.
  • Authorizing expenditures and refunds. Making daily bank deposits.
  • Preparing all HR-related forms and sending them to Corporate HR and Payroll Team.
  • Tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, annually).
  • Providing backup support for any absent employee.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma/GED equivalent, and have a passion for fitness and health.

A minimum of one to three years of experience in a management role is preferred, along with:

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite) and the ability to learn systems quickly.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills.
  • Direct experience managing customer-focused teams in the fitness or similar industry.
  • Exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • A hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic management style.
  • Organization, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and own reliable means of transportation.

Estimated Salary: $23.00 - $23.50 per hour
